For the 2024 edition of Art Paris Art Fair, A2Z Art Gallery is presenting four groups of Asian artists: Vietnamese and Japanese, Korean and Chinese. On the one hand, traditional artists and on the other, artists working with materials with an intense emotional quest, offering a diverse perspective on contemporary Asian art.
MA DESHENG GRACED A2Z ART GALLERY WITH VIVID COLOURS
A perfect way to celebrate the blossoming of spring, "Ma’s Colours" is an exploration of colours that follows the same logic as his inspiration from Henri Matisse. A self-taught Chinese artist, Ma Desheng is constantly pushing back the boundaries of art in post-Maoist China. This exhibition is the fruit of over forty years of appropriation, culminating in the creation of his own identity through these new compositions. By staging his stone formations with a pastel palette, Ma Desheng imagines what Matisse might have unfolded, had he known these contemporary colours.
