Aung KO

Born in 1980 in Yangon in Myanmar (ex-Burma).

After studying paintings at the University of Culture in Yangon in 2002, Aung Ko focuses on the complex yet natural evolution of materials that find themselves transformed, used, reused, reinvested and rearranged, which often combined in the artist unique projects. The nature of time, the unstable political climate and periods of gestation are all the central themes that support the singular temporality of each of his creations.

His works have been exhibited at the Singapore Biennale in 2008, at the 4th Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale (Japan) in 2009, at the Onomichi City Museum (Japan) during 2014-2015, at the Palais de Tokyo (France) in 2015 and institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore during 2015-2016. He sets up the Thuye`dan Village Art Project in his hometown in Myanmar.
