After a career as a Fashion Designer across New York, Hong Kong and Sydney, Jono Toh plunges us into painting. At the heart of Toh's practice is a personal journey of unraveling emotions, memories, and experiences that bridge the conscious and subconscious. Through bold visual forms, Toh distills moments of self-reflection, representing the intricacy of his introspection. In Thinking Out Loud, Toh transforms the quiet terrain of introspection into tangible forms, where each work emerges from a dialogue between the conscious and subconscious.
"These visual expressions navigate the uncertainties of his lived experience with clarity and optimism, inviting viewers to step into the space where thought becomes visible, and where even in uncertainty, light persists," says Toh.
This exhibition is particularly noteworthy given Toh's rapid growth in popularity. In 2022, he took part in a group exhibition at A2Z Gallery, presenting five works. Three years later, he takes over the entire space for his first solo show in Paris. Since then, his work has drawn the attention of numerous collectors, and Louis Vuitton Paris has acquired one of his works for an upcoming boutique concept. Prior to this, Toh had solo shows in Hong Kong (You Tell Me in 2023) and Istanbul (Once Upon That Time in 2024).
