Raging Sea, Acrylic & mineral pigment on silk, 60 x 80 cm, 2023

According to Vietnamese artist Lê Thúy, human beings, in their ceaseless quest to acquire land, have lost their connection to the earth.

The A2Z Art Gallery is honored to present Lê Thúy's new solo exhibition Desolation, from February 1 to 24, 2024, Paris 6th districy.

A graduate of the Fine Arts University of Vietnam, the artist sees her work as a witness to present times, illustrating contemporary events through her personal prism and her use of traditional Vietnamese techniques. She then expresses the anguish felt by those who feel marginalized by contemporary global society.

In her new solo show, Desolation, the artist presents her paintings on silk, using a masterful, yet delicate technique. The exhibition is divided into two parts: The Dry Land and The Faith. This dichotomy formulates the mute echoes of the most destitute beings, evoking various current societal concerns such as natural degradation, environmental destruction, deadly pandemics, war, as well as the ethical decay of humanity.

According to Vietnamese artist Lê Thúy, human beings, in their ceaseless quest to acquire land, have lost their connection to the earth. So what is happening to the relationship between nature and humanity in the Anthropocene era? Let's find out in her latest solo show, Desolation.
